Kindle DX Gets a New Game from Electronic Arts (EA)

Amazon has finally released its first paid game for the Kindle DX and other models of Kindle.
The Game of Scrabble by Electronic Arts is a welcome addition to the Kindle DX Family, and with a price tag of just 4.99 its a real bargain for DX owners.

Included is multi-player functionality, and different variations on the Scrabble gameplay itself.

Scrabble is a great game choice by Amazon, and it shows in the stats as this is one of the best sellers on Amazon today. I can see Kindle DX’s being passed around on airplanes and trains soon as people you dont even know will want to join in on all the hours of fun this game can provide.

Kudos to Amazon for not letting the Kindle DX get mucked up with inferior apps, like what is happpening on other devices.

Here is a couple quick reviews of the new Scrabble game by customers on Amazons website.:

“This is a great game for kindle. Perfectly formatted, great graphics and fun for anybody who loves scrabble or has never played before! It even has a “Pass ‘n’ Play” setting so you can play this game with up to 4 people. The best kindle game yet. I love it.”

“I downloaded this earlier today to my new latest generation Kindle and I love it! It plays just like traditional scrabble as well as giving you the option to choose from several other forms of the game. You can choose your difficulty level and if you get stuck and want some help there is a best word feature that allows you to let the program show you what your best move should be. You even get blank tiles to play (if you’re lucky) just like in a regular Scrabble game. I am impressed with how quickly the game makes it’s move which is good because when it’s calculating it’s move you can’t see your tiles. It seems to only take a second or two for it to make it’s move so you’re not left hanging for very long.

Definitely recommended if you like playing Scrabble and want to add some non-book entertainment to your Kindle.”

There’s a whole lot more reviews like these on Amazon and the general concensus is people are loving this game. A couple people said the graphics could be better and whatnot, but I say as long as you can read the words and letters, why do you need better graphics than that? All that would do is slow down the game, and make it not as enjoyable as this version. This is definitly worth 5 bucks.
